1) Who we are
“SafetyNet” is a community initiative focused on decentralized social tooling on the DeSo ecosystem. We act as data controller for processing related to this website (safetynet.social).
2) What personal data we process
- Contact data (e.g., name, email) when you contact us.
- Technical data (IP address, device, browser, basic analytics events) to secure and operate the site.
- Usage data (pages viewed, timestamps) to improve the site and services.
3) Purposes & legal bases (GDPR)
- Provide and maintain the site — legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Respond to inquiries — performance of a contract or legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)).
- Security & fraud prevention — legitimate interests and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(f)/(c)).
- Optional communications (news/updates) — consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) with opt-out anytime.
4) Cookies & analytics
We aim to keep tracking minimal. If we use non-essential cookies or analytics, we will request your consent via a banner. You can withdraw consent at any time. Browser controls can also block cookies.
5) Sharing of personal data
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with trusted service providers (hosting, security, analytics) under data processing agreements and with appropriate safeguards.
6) International transfers
If data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we use approved safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses) and additional measures where necessary.

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, then delete or irreversibly anonymize it.

You can request: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing (including to profiling). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise rights, email privacy@safetynet.social. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local authority (e.g., the Dutch Data Protection Authority: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
10) Children
Our site is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us to remove it.
11) Changes
We may update this policy; we will post the new version with a new “Last updated” date.
